Share Market timings in India

The regular NSE and BSE stock request timings are from 9.15 AM to 3.30 PM. beside this there is a pre-opening session starting from 9.00 AM to 9.15 AM and a post-closing session starting from 3.30 PM up to 4 PM.

Pre-Opening Session Stock Market Timings in India

Share market Pre-opening session starting time of nifty is 9.00 AM and goes till 9.15 AM. The pre-opening session is divided into three timings.

From 9.00 AM to 9.08 AM

You can buy or sell stocks between these time . You can also able to cancel or modify order that you have placed. After the preopening session the orders placed in market gets in line for execution.

From 9.08 AM to 9.12 AM

In between this 4 minutes you cannot buy or sell any stocks ,also you cannot cancel or modify the order you have placed in pre-opening session. because in this time Price matching is done to determine demand and supply of the market. This process helps to arrive at the final price of shares once the normal session starts at 9.15 AM.

From 9.12 AM to 9.15 AM

During this time you cannot place or modify any orders because this time is used to connect pre-opening session with main market session.

 

Normal Trading Hours Timings in India

The main share market timings in India starts from 9.15 AM and end at 3.30PM.During these time you can buy ,sell ,cancel or modify any order that you have placed. The stock prices in nifty is decided by the volume of buyers and sellers in the market. And order is fulfilled by opposite order placed at that time.

Post-Closing Session  Timings in India
The session after main trading session is called as post market session. This starts from 3.30PM and goes till 4 PM. This session is also divided into multiple slots.

From 3.30 PM to 3.40 PM During these 10 minutes, the ending price of stocks is calculated by taking the weighted average price of the stock traded between 3.00 PM to3.30 PM. The last hour is very important for determining final closing prices of the stocks.
